Mapping
Boston is a new book designed to bring maps of
Boston and New England into the hands of students
and scholars, tourists and lifelong residents, and
people who love finding their way in and around the
city.
Maps fascinate
people of all ages, perhaps because they capture
the history, ecology, geography, politics,
economics and sociology of a culture at a moment in
time. In this tradition, the Mapping Boston website
outlines Boston's cartographic history and
topographical development through maps from the
Norman B. Leventhal Collection.
